Jerry and Carolyn Porter are well known in the town of Bradford. Carolyn and Jerry were married in 1963 and have one daughter, Tracy.
Carolyn, a Bradford native, was an educator in the Bradford School System for 40 years teaching elementary school, special education, high school typing, general business, and English. Throughout her career, "Miss Carolyn" took a special interest in all her students. Her house was always open to anyone needing additional assistance or tutoring. She was a mentor to so many and has remained in contact with many throughout the years.
Although not a Bradford native, Jerry has been active in
many community activities - Jaycees, little league baseball coach, volunteer fireman. Jerry is also an avid supporter of BHS sports and is normally in attendance at the games.
The Porter's exemplify the traits that make our hometown community so great. They are truly deserving of the honor to serve as the 2023 Grand Marshals of the Doodle Soup Parade.
